Welcome to the official Ottawa Writer’s Circle blog!

We’ve finally created an online space for the community to gather! There’s this blog, and forums for everyone to connect with your fellow writing members. Neither of these will replace the in-real-life purpose of the OWC. We’re not going to host critique circles on here. There are many other websites that do that better than we could. (Like: Scribophile or Critters) However, there are forums to connect with one-on-one critique partners, share your writing or book-ish news, ask writing questions, and just kind of chill out.

Make sure you review the Site Rules & FAQ before diving into the forums.

You can look forward to blog posts about upcoming events, writing advice, critiquing tips, giveaways, and much more!

In addition to all this, Averill will be offering free query and first page critiques. Usually, these run about $25 each or more. However, if you don’t mind it being posted on the blog, it’s yours for free! If you want to get in on this, feel free to email your query or first page (about 250 words) to averillfrankeswrites@gmail.com.
