Get involved with the OWC in 2023!

Are you looking to get more involved in a community or make an investment in your writing? The Ottawa Writer's Circle is putting out a call for volunteers!

We haven't solicited the membership for volunteers since January 2020 and we've since changed platforms, our slate of events, and method of delivery. Now that the dust has settled a bit and the OWC has got its sea legs back, we're putting out another call!

We don't have any specific roles we're looking to fill, so if you have something in mind, fill out this form (now closed, sorry!) and someone from the leadership team will get in touch! It could be anything from an event you'd like to host, getting more involved in facilitating online discussions or events, or joining us behind the scenes to help out with things like website maintenance, the monthly newsletter, or our social media presence (or lack thereof). If you'd volunteered with the OWC before we transitioned online, this is your chance to jump back on the ship!

The form will close to submissions on January 18, 2023, and we'll be contacting those who would like to volunteer shortly afterwards to discuss more details! Filling out the form is just an expression of interest in volunteering, not a commitment to anything more than a conversation, so even if you're not sure or if your idea isn't fully formed, we encourage folks to apply. All applications will be considered, but depending on the needs of the membership and group as a whole, we can't guarantee all will be accepted.

A huge thank you to the existing volunteer team: Ariel, Erica, Jill, and Tommy! They've been the biggest reason we've been able to keep going as we have since transitioning online.

We're looking forward to chatting with some folks who would like to join us in 2023!
