Positive Feedback Fest!
Where & When?
A positive feedback fest is where participants share a piece of their WIPs with the group and the group responds with positive feedback and reinforcement only. This is not a critique circle, this is a cheerleading circle! We want writers to hear what gets readers excited about their WIP, what they're curious about, where were they mesmorized by the prose or on the edge of their seats from the thrill? There's no room for criticism here, even if it's constructive. There are other forums for that.
You should come prepared with about 3 minutes of material from their WIP to share. (This works out to about 500 to 750 words or 2-ish manuscript pages) This can be from a chapter you'd like to read, a synopsis you'd like to share, some rambling ideas you're thinking of adding, or whatever would be most helpful or exciting for you. You're encouraged to read the sample in real time out loud, however if needed, the host can read the work as well. We'll also post the excerpt on the #positive-feedback-fest channel for people to read along for poor man's subtitles.
Folks who RSVP to the event will be added to the private #positive-feedback-fest channel on the day of the event for a week following, if anyone wants to continue the conversation!
