We've all heard of "Write What You Know" and we all know why that's become somewhat controversial. However, I want to talk about the kernel of truth in the controversy, as there always is: specificity. This is the core of what people really mean when they say the phrase, and we'll talk about how to wield it to improve our writing.

But what's a Lightning Workshop? It's a brief, interactive workshop--only an hour long!--on a single writing craft topic. The first half hour will be a brief presentation and guided discussion on the topic of the day. The second half hour will be all about completing and sharing writing exercises to practice what we've learned from each other.

Writers of all levels are welcome!

As this is online and very short, attendance is capped at 5 participants. However, more are to come!

Cost is pay-what-you-can!

We know money can be tight in these strange and uncertain times. Even though the OWC has moved online, our costs are the same with fewer opportunities for fundraising.
